VISIT TO EGYPTOLOGY GALLERIES AT BOLTON MUSEUM
On 9 May 2019 we visited the new Egyptology Galleries at Bolton Museum for an expert guided tour by the Collections Access Officer for Egyptology and Archaeology, Ian Trumble. The Egyptology collection is “arguably one of the most important in a British local authority collection” and includes about 12,000 items from 65 sites in Egypt. It is housed in new galleries which do justice to the range of the collection. Ian explained the thinking behind the layout and Society members were most impressed with the new displays.
